How to style your little black dress

We all have one (or two) LBD's in our closet. It's time to revive it and give it a new look!

I am 5 months post baby. I am a size 10-12 right now and am not used to my new post baby body. I  recently had my 7 year anniversary and needed an outfit. I had a hard time finding one, and I am not expecting to stay this size for long so I did not want to spend any money. I was on a quick Target run and found this Merona special just calling to me. And it's black which is a plus when you are trying to hide some extras ;)

All you need is:
  • The LBD of course
  • Belt
  • Sweater
  • Blazer
  • Heels
  • Boots
  • Tights
  • Statement Jewelry
Here is my journey to styling it up!

The plain little black dress

Note: Spanx required for this form fitting dress.

 The Belt

I used the belt and the shoes to add some color.

My personal favorite. Awesome belt with gold embellishment.

The outerwear

I thought I would add some color by adding a green cardigan.

A black blazer is always classic and slimming.

The Shoes

Mid calf black suede wedge boots, paired with grey houndstooth tights.

Check out my own personal stylist <3

Yes, my 2 1/2 year old assisted me by organizing all my shoes.

The statement necklace

I always say if it is a little too much... then wear it!

A great statement necklace with some fun color.

Thank you for not laughing at my amazing modeling talents ;)
