I see a lot of moms who get wrapped up in the whirlwind of
life, shuffling kids here and there, cleaning the house, working around the
clock (whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a working mom)—it’s easy to get
lost in translation and lose your sense of identity. I think it’s really important to do things
for yourself whether you sneak in a pedicure, get a fabulous new
haircut, read a book you’ve always wanted to, have a quiet lunch with a close
friend, or a night on the town with a group of people. I know that
many times this is easier said than done, but it’s important to make time for YOU!
Here are some fun ideas to give yourself a (very much needed)
mommy time out:

Take a bubble bath

Enjoy a glass of wine and a good book or a fun
magazine

Watch a movie
·
Get a pedicure (at a salon or save money and DIY)

Get a massage
·
Enjoy a facial
·
Enjoy some retail therapy (every girl could use a
new outfit or a pair of shoes, right?)

Take a walk
·
Order a meal instead of cooking
·
Schedule a lunch date with a friend
·
Take a nap
·
Invest in some new makeup (get brave and try a new
lipstick or eye shadow color!)
·
Catch some rays in the sunshine
·
Hit the gym or try a yoga class
·
Buy yourself something special like a new piece of
jewelry
·
Get your hair done (whether it is a haircut,
highlights, blowout, or deep conditioning treatment—your hair will thank you!)
·
Get in touch with your creative side—paint a
picture, scrapbook, write in a journal
·
Plant something - herbs are a great place to start if you're a novice gardener
Time for yourself isn’t just a luxury, it’s a critical part of
your emotional well-being and in my opinion, a happy mom is a better parent!
